Sapphire Vehicle Services is proud to celebrate the achievement of Tom Neale, who recently travelled to Japan to represent the UK at the prestigious Isuzu I-1 Grand Prix, competing alongside some of the world’s most skilled Isuzu technicians.
The international competition brings together technicians from across the globe to demonstrate their technical knowledge, diagnostic abilities and practical expertise, recognising the highest standards within the commercial vehicle industry.
Putting Technical Expertise to the Test
Held in Japan, the competition saw teams from 35 countries take part in a series of challenging assessments designed to test their skills under pressure.
Tom and his UK teammates were tasked with completing practical vehicle inspections, diagnosing and resolving a vehicle non-start fault, and undertaking a comprehensive technical knowledge examination.
Each challenge required precision, efficiency and a strong understanding of vehicle systems, alongside the ability to work safely and accurately.
The UK team achieved an impressive 15th-place finish overall, a fantastic result against some of the best technicians from around the world.
A Proud Moment for Sapphire Vehicle Services
Tom’s participation in this international competition is a fantastic achievement and reflects the dedication, knowledge and technical expertise that our technicians bring to their roles every day.
Reflecting on the experience, Thomas said:
“It was a real privilege to represent the UK on an international stage, compete against talented technicians from around the world and experience Japanese culture along the way. It’s certainly an experience I’ll remember for a long time!”
Tom also extended his thanks to Isuzu Truck UK and Isuzu Motors for their outstanding hospitality, support and organisation throughout the trip.
Everyone at Sapphire Vehicle Services would like to congratulate Thomas and the entire UK team on their achievement.
We are incredibly proud to have Thomas representing both the UK and Sapphire Vehicle Services on an international stage.
Well done, Thomas!
